Grammy nominated San Diego, California metalers AS I LAY DYING
will be filming a string of dates in November for their first ever DVD
to be released in the spring of 2009. The DVD will include live
performances, backstage footage, interviews, photos, production videos,
and a documentary on the group covering everything from the bands
humble beginnings to the their massive success as one of today’s
leading metal acts. AS I LAY DYING will be playing songs off the album Frail Words Collapse
at the show on November 17th in San Marcos, another show on Nov-19 in
the So Cal area that will be announced sometime in the next week on the
band’s site, and their regular live set at The Grove on November 21st.
The Grove show in Anaheim, CA on Friday November 21st will include support from Bring Me the Horizon, Terror, and Born of Osiris. In conjunction with the show at The Grove, AS I LAY DYING and Metal Blade Records will be hosting a contest where fans can enter for a chance to win tickets to the show. Four winners will be randomly selected to receive two spots on AS I LAY DYING’s guest list for the show and each winner and their guest (1 guest per winner) will meet members of AS I LAY DYING, receive an autographed copy of An Ocean Between Us on limited edition vinyl, and will be able to select two items (per participant) of in stock items from AS I LAY DYING’s merchandise booth at the show. Cannibal Corpse studio report 2

everyone, Alex from Cannibal Corpse here checking in again from Mana
Studios in St. Petersburg Florida. The last time you heard from us Paul
had just finished the drum tracking, and we've made a lot of progress
since then. Here's a brief rundown:
The
rhythm guitar recording was the next part of the session. We spent a
lot of time on it, both on attaining a crushing sound, and also on
achieving airtight performances. The tracking was a lot of hard work
for Pat and Rob, but the end result was Next up was the bass tracking, and again we worked hard to get a great sound and great performances. Producer Erik Rutan oversaw the tracking and made sure he got the best performance I was capable of, just as he did with Rob and Pat on the rhythm guitar. I can say for sure that the bass and rhythm guitar have never been tighter on any Cannibal Corpse album.
So, that's about it for now. We are all extremely excited with how this album is shaping up. We wanted to make an ultra heavy and precise album, and so far that's the way it's been going. Next up is the mix, and we're confident Erik will make this the heaviest sounding Cannibal Corpse album yet. Check back for a final update when the mix is complete.

GOD DETHRONED update from the studio! Last week we started tracking down drum tracks for our new album Passiondale. With Roel back on the drum throne all speed limits have been broken again. We took a lot of time in order to get the best results ‘cause we want the album to be as tight as possible. Producer Jörg Uken from the Soundlodge studios is a drummer himself so we actually managed to get some really spectacular drumming on tape. We also wrote a new song in the studio called “No Survivors” bringing the total of songs to 9. Yesterday we made some heavy crushing guitar sounds and this week we’ll track down the guitars. Currently,
George is working on tracking the vocals, and he is a little over
halfway done. He's had a few parts to sing that were unbelievably fast,
but so far he's been more than up to the task. His voice is sounding
brutal and holding up well, so we should be done tracking the vocals in
the next few days. Pat has already started working on guitar solos as
well, but the majority of the solos will be recorded after the vocals
are complete.
Cattle
Decapitation will be headlining this year's November to Dismember Fest
in Ontario, CALIGORENIA! The show is all ages and admission is only $10.
