Shai Hulud to tour with New Found Glory!Shai Hulud will be taking
the spot of recently disbanded Verses on New
Found Glory’s upcoming headlining tour with Bayside & Set Your Goals.
For those unaware, Chad Gilbert of NFG is an original member of Hulud…so he may
or may not be joining them on stage… updates straight from the sources (Matt
Fox & Chad Gilbert) are below. “Greetings Programettes, You must have been worried sick. It's been what... a while, no? Please
accept our humblest apologies for our lack of writings and updates. Worry not,
we're just fine and wearing the same underwear since the last time you heard
from us. We hope you are as well. We've had a lot of great experiences the past few months, many of which
we meant to immediately document on cyberspace, but eBay often gets in the way.
All that Planet of the Apes and Micronauts stuff to drool over; that takes up a
lot of time, and quite a bit of drool. But I digress. We'll get to some of the
older bits after we comment on current and upcoming happenings because we can't
very well live in the past anymore than we already do. Not without a Delorean.
And jigawatts. We'll need jigawatts. 1.21 to be exact. Continuing our mission to relentlessly tour, and damage and drive our
bodies and van straight into the ground, we have two months worth of two tours
to announce. We'll be out supporting Stick To Your Guns along with In Fear And
Faith and Stray From The Path for just about two weeks starting in early March.
A righteous run you say? Indeed, but wait there's more. Directly after our
stint with the aforementioned, we join up with Set Your Goals and Bayside to
assist them in supporting A New Found Glory (minus the "A") as they
support their forthcoming album Not
Without A Fight. Now that's not something you see every day! For those of
you who might not know, New Found Glory
and Shai Hulud are more closely
related than you might realize: we both started in South Florida back in the
90's together, we always stayed friendly and in touch, and early on even shared
a member. As unique as the pairing may seem, it's also a perfect fit - and
that's not mentioning NFG's clear and obvious ties to the hardcore scene. Chad
Gilbert has an original press of Start Today on vinyl... and you don't. So
there. Not so harder-core-than-thou now, eh brown cow? We know what you're wondering. The answer is.................. quite
possibly. There are no definitive plans for Captain Straight Edge a.k.a.
Chadball to hop on the mic and sing a song with us, however, it's certainly not
out of the question. We in Shai Hulud would be as pinkly tickled as yourselves
to have Note from “Hello Party People, As most of you already know, the band VERSE, who was meant to open our
"Not Without A Fight" tour has broken up. We were excited to tour
with them but that’s life. We have been receiving tons of messages from people
asking us about who are we replacing Verse with. Since tickets were already on
sale we feel it is only fair to replace them with a band from a similar genre.
That way kids who listen to Verse won’t be too disappointed...plus we feel it
makes for a better show to have a more diverse lineup. Now to announce the band: The band that will replace Verse will be none other than SHAI HULUD!!
They are a fellow Floridian band and we grew up in the Check it! For those of you that could be wondering, I might make an appearance on
the mic but I can’t promise or commit to anything. Shai Hulud's singer rules
anyway. Your friend always, chad” More from Matt Fox: “Them's the plans for the next couple months anyway. More plans will
post here in the near future. How about yourselves, anyone doing anything
exciting the next couple of months? Do tell! Anyone excited for Joaquin
Pheonix's Hip Hop project? Yeah, us too. Like really. Like... (yawn)...
really... Hey! We're always looking to sleep somewhere other than a hotel while
on tour. Drop us a line if your floor desperately needs to be crashed on by your
homeboys in Shai Hulud. You'll want us to shower, that's for sure. You'll never
get a better chance to find out exactly how boring we are until we crash at
your place. If we're feeling really crazy, we might even ask you to play a
board game. Matt Fletcher might tell a story from his teenage years, and Matt
Fox, well, he's been known to drink a Cherry Coke after midnight. Animals.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with us. We
promise you, at the very least, great conversations about Thin Lizzy, the Miami
Dolphins, and Nuclear Assault, the best in the biz. Get in touch. Our operators
are standing by.” SHAI HULUD Tour w/ Stick To

Woe of Tyrants “Break the Fangs of the Wicked” video debut on myspace.com/metalOhio’s Woe of Tyrants are currently debuting their video for Break the Fangs of the Wicked on myspace.com/metal. The video was directed by Jake Beemer with Siege Media and filmed at the Majestic Theatre in Chillicothe, OH. Vocalist Chris Catanzaro explains the video and its concept: “We were very honored to have the opportunity to work with Jake and the crew of Siege Media on our first video for the new record, "Kingdom of Might". The song is entitled "Break the Fangs of the Wicked", and despite being one of our most popular live songs, Fangs was chosen due to the fact that it successfully culminates the diversity and overall theme of the entire record. The video was shot in our hometown of Chillicothe, OH at the legendary Majestic Theater. We were fortunate enough to have some close, and very talented, friends come out to serve as the performers in the video. The storyline follows the song in that the song is about rising above negativity and evil and going back to square one in our love for our fellow person. We felt this was an important message to convey amidst a genre that speaks death almost constantly, and thanks to the professionalism of the crew we are very confident that it is going to turn out even better than we initially expected!” - Chris Catanzaro Woe of Tyrants guitar lesson now up on Ultimate-Guitar.com Head over to ultimate-guitar.com to check out Matt Kincaid and John Hehman of Woe of Tyrants as they show you how to play a few of the killer riffs from Break the Fangs of the Wicked. The video is available EXCLUSIVELY on ultimate-guitar.com HERE. Paria to release the band’s most intricate album to date, “The Barnacle Cordious”, on March 17thThe disease that infiltrates the current trend in music has been diagnosed, and the prescribed treatment is upcoming Paria release, The Barnacle Cordious. Care, detail, consternation and collective intuition lay the foundation for what will prove to be Paria’s most respected album to date. “Knee jerk reactions are the intention of this record, whether or not anyone agrees that these reactions are good ones, this album stands on its own. I’m fully prepared to defend that notion,” guitarist John Claus said about the effort. Paria is aware of the importance of improvement and honing new skills, and while statements such as these may remain trite, The Barnacle Cordious is anything but cliché. The Barnacle Cordious track listing: 1. The Barnacle Cordious 2. Circus 3. The Wallabee Dance Machine 4. Pish-Posh 5. Bomb 6. Rabid McFlygrid 7. Thrash 8. Be 9. February 13, 2009BELIEVER releases first single off upcoming release Gabriel! In honor of the upcoming release "Focused Lethality was really a return to our straight-ahead thrash style. We had a great time writing this one and playing it live really brings the energy level up a notch. We think fans of our early work will sink their teeth into this one” states guitarist/vocalist Kurt Bachman. Gabriel track listing: 1. Medwton 2. A Moment In Prime 3. Stoned 4. Redshift 5. History Of Decline 6. The Need For Conflict 7. Focused Lethality 8. Shut Out The Sun 9. The Brave 10. Nonsense Mediated Decay Formed in the mid eighties, BELIEVER gained worldwide recognition for their boundary-breaking, artistic form of extreme metal as a part of Roadrunner Records prog-metal/thrash campaign “The Breed Beyond” alongside Cynic and Pestilence. After a long hiatus, Believer is back with an intense fury and the band’s new record, Gabriel, once again sees Believer conquering new musical and artistic territory. With an upgraded sound and songwriting that has been alluded to as a “sick, insane cross between Tool, Voivod, NIN, and Destruction”, Believer’s 4th release Gabriel shows a band simply not focused on regurgitating and reliving their past. To this end, Bachman and Daub have surrounded themselves with new creative blood in keyboardist/programmer Jeff King, guitarist Kevin Leaman and bassist/programmer Elton Nestler. Securing a new home with legendary Metal Blade Records, Believer is determined to win over fans of old and new with their brand of ‘Believer-esque’ metal. http://www.myspace.com/believerband

Cattle Decapitation interviewed on ThrasherMagazine.com!Thrasher Magazine, the world’s foremost authority on all things skating, has conducted an interview with Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation. You can head to ThrasherMagazine.com to read the interview and to catch up on the latest news in the world of skating. Thrasher calls Cattle’s latest album, The Harvest Floor, “the band’s most brutally intense work to date." “Cattle Decapitation’s “The Harvest Floor” is an apocalyptic multimedia epic that should not be missed!” Fangoria.com “Cattle Decapitation have the sort of skills that put them squarely at the head of grind’s noisy pack.” MetalSucks.net “In the end, The Harvest Floor is the sound of an assured act firing on all creative cylinders. Even though it’s still so early in the year, this one will probably make the best-of lists come December.” ultimate-guitar.com

Revolver Magazine Bootleg Series: EXCLUSIVE CANCER BATS TRACK, “AGENDA SUICIDE”RevolverMag.com to check it out
and don’t forget to catch the band live when they hit your town as part of the
Rockstar Energy Drink Taste of Chaos alongside Thursday, Bring Me the Horizon, Four
Year Strong, and Pierce the Veil. Revolver: In our never-ending quest to give you, the
reader, the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg series.
Throughout each month, we’ll post cool, new, and often-exclusive tracks right
here for you to hear before anyone else. This installment is a non-album cut by stoner-rock-influenced Canadian
group Cancer Bats. A cover of “Agenda Suicide” by Nebraskan
neo-new-wavers The Faint, the song almost made the Bats’ latest, Hail
Destroyer (Blackmarket Activities/Metal Blade). Head over to the Revolver site to see what vocalist Liam Cormier has to
say about why the track didn’t make the cut but is still unique. “Full of youthful energy and great chops, their second full-length
never sounds forced, and the first two tracks alone kick more ass than most
bands’ entire discographies.” Revolver - 4/5 stars “Hail Destroyer takes everything that made the first [disc]
great and amplifies it.” - BW&BK CANCER BATS 02/08

BELIEVER releases video on how Gabriel cover art was created – exclusively on Decibel Magazine’s site!Head over to DecibelMagazine.com to check out the exclusive video clip of how the cover art for Believer’s upcoming March 17th release, Gabriel, was created. As viewers will see in the video the cover image, outside of the logo and album title, were COMPLETELY generated outside of Photoshop with a real model, real paint and even real horns. Check it out now at this location. Here’s what the band had to say about the artwork for their upcoming release Gabriel, which happens to be Believer’s first new release in 16 years: The artwork for Gabriel was born from the talents of Michael Rosner (Roz) and Eye Level Studios. Working with Roz and the Eye Level team has been nothing short of amazing. The talent of these individuals is staggering and we found ourselves residing in the same crazy, pancake eating, warped dimension when it came to visual concepts. We tossed many ideas around with Roz but the main focus was to have the artwork compliment the music and vice-versa. Gabriel has been an artistic collaboration on many levels and the finished product truly highlights the incredible talents of Roz and the Eye Level team. We're not finished yet, so stay tuned for more Believer/Eye Level madness. http://www.myspace.com/believerband
